Our Vision:

“To glorify God by delighting in His grace, and loving the Rio Grande Valley.”

“To glorify God…”

Question 4 of the New City Catechism asks,

Question: How and why did God create us?

Answer: God created us male and female in his own image to know him, love him, live with him, and glorify him. And it is right that we who were created by God should live to his glory.

God created humanity to enjoy all of life before Him. We seek to be a church that seeks to magnify God’s manifold perfections when we gather for public worship, as well as in every aspect of our lives. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we will learn to think, act, and speak in such a way that we draw attention to His glory.

” … by delighting in His grace…”

We seek to be a community that rejoices in the gospel, acknowledging that we are saved by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ alone, who has forgiven all our past, present, and future sins, and brought us together to be God’s people.

Grace (God’s riches at Christ’s expense) frees us from seeking to save ourselves by our own performance. As Christ’s church, we strive to be the “aroma” of this unmerited grace to everyone we meet.

Being united under the household of God, we will be sacrificially involved in each other’s lives in serving, studying, laughing, crying, celebrating, struggling, and rejoicing together.

” … and loving the Rio Grande Valley.”

God, in His foreknowledge and perfect wisdom, has placed us in this part of His world at this time of history to be “salt and light” (Matthew 5:13-15). As the Rio Grande Valley looks to the future, we believe that the church is called to seek its welfare and to pray on its behalf.

By establishing a new Reformed* church in the McAllen / Edinburg area, we labor to be continually changed by grace as God directs our affections and interests toward Himself. We labor to make the values of the Kingdom of God more visible in our city through service and love.
